zolpidem experience
yes, i have been taking zolpidem for about 8 yrs now...8 yrs you say?? yes, i am addicted and it is making my life a hell........ it is just as addictive as any other prescribed sleeping medication....i feel that in part due to the controversy as to whether or not it actually belongs in the benzodiazapine family, makes it and other "hynotics" more socially acceptable..

Sleep Pattern
I'm only in my mid-forties, but already starting to develop a sleeping pattern similar my grandparents - feel sleepy around 9 PM and wake up around 4-5 AM in the morning.

I'm trying to adjust my life around it, but it's not easy. For example, I cannot do anything that creates any sort of a noise because by family members still asleep at 5 AM.

So, as I read on this website - it sounds like my sleep-wake rhythm needs to be corrected.
Will try...

Short effect sleep medications
There are new sleep medications with half-life of no more than couple of hours. For example, Zolpidem (branded as Ambien) and Zaleplon (branded as Sonata).

Anyone tried those?

Night sleeping tip
When I wake up in the middle of the night, I have noticed a cup of hot chicken broth or soup calms me down.
